Request To Establish a New OIT UNIX Printserver Print Queue
Use this form to request that OIT establish a new
OIT UNIX printserver print queue
Make a copy of this form, fill it out, then email it to
printmaster@princeton.edu.
Printmaster will set up a print queue on the host printserve.
Printmaster will also make the print queue available on all OIT UNIX Systems, if you specify
on the form that should be done.
Once the queue is set up, printmaster will notify you via email,
and advise you of the new print queue name.
-
Vendor name of printer (e.g. Apple, HP, Lexmark, Kodak, NEC)
-
Model name of printer (e.g. LaserWriter II NT, HP LaserJet 5Si MX)
-
What is the registered hostname (IP address) of the printer?
If your printer is connected to another host (instead of directly to the
Ethernet network), what is the registered name of that host, and the name
of the local printer? Prior to contacting printmaster verify that the
printer is properly connected to the network, does the printer answer to ping.
-
Building and Room number where printer is located
-
Person responsible for printer (name, phone, and e-mail address)
-
Owner of printer (e.g. department name, or in the case of a
non-University printer, the private owner name)
-
Should the print queue be defined on the OIT UNIX Systems?
(If "yes", then this will ensure customers on those systems
can print to the queue. If "no", then depending on the particular
operating system on each OIT UNIX System, customers may or may not
be able to print to the queue. Regardless of your answer,
anyone with a private computer system may still configure that system
to print to the queue.)
